Ms. Slocomb is a litigation attorney representing individual and corporate debtors, financial institutions, smaller private lenders, trustees, creditors committees, and other clients in bankruptcy proceedings and civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Ms. Slocomb was a judicial extern to the Honorable Dale S. Fischer, Federal District Court Judge for the Central District of California.
Ms. Slocomb obtained her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in Los Angeles, California in May 2007. She obtained her B.A. from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon in December 2001.
Ms. Slocomb is licensed to practice law in California.
Bankruptcy: Experience includes representation of Chapter 7 trustees, Chapter 11 trustees, Chapter 7 debtors, Chapter 11 debtors—including under the new Subchapter V small business bankruptcy section, creditors’ committees, and secured and unsecured creditors. Specific experience includes representation of Chapter 7 trustees in locating and administering estate assets; prosecuting and defending nondischargeability, asset recovery actions, and actions against recipients of fraudulent and preferential transfers; representation of secured and unsecured creditors who have claims against individuals and corporations that have filed for bankruptcy, including lenders, landlords, and trade creditors; and representation of Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 debtors and creditors’ committees as general insolvency counsel.
Civil Litigation: Experience includes obtaining pre-judgment remedies, enforcing judgments, defending borrowers sued for judicial foreclosure and to enforce personal guaranties; seeking appointment of receivers for creditors; representing receivers in state court actions in which they had been appointed; seeking unlawful detainer judgments on behalf of landlords and lenders; prosecuting and defending breach of contract actions; and handling a variety of other civil litigation matters.
